| The care of patients with skin tears can present a complex problem for healthcare professionals. Despite arguments that skin tears are more prevalent than pressure ulcers, to date there’s still no "universally accepted" definition of a skin tear. This session evaluates the results of an international survey exploring clinical practice and beliefs pertaining to skin tears. A consensus document regarding the risk assessment, prevention, and treatment of skin tears is presented along with several case studies. |
