Free Education on the Use of Silver in Wound Care
Silver is one of the more popular topical antiseptic agents incorporated into wound dressings. Thus far, research on the antimicrobial efficacy of silver has been limited to in vitro studies, and despite the data on the microbicidal properties of silver, some debate exists as to the effectiveness of silver dressings in wound healing.
Hollister Wound Care sponsored a satellite symposium at the 2009 SAWC conference to provide an evidence-based review of the use of silver dressings. Click the links below to view two experts' presentations on the use of silver in wound care.
